How Can I Individualise My Wedding Ceremony?

You may feel overwhelmed planning your wedding. To be honest, most engaged couples feel the same. The right marriage celebrant (Anne-Louise or Greg at Infinity Celebrancy) can put your mind at ease and help you make your wedding ceremony meaningful and unique. The following tips should make life easier and ensure that your wedding is personalised.

  1.  We include your love journey in your ceremony. It is always memorable when the wedding ceremony includes how you met and your journey to marriage. Families and friends love hearing about this and it’s what brought you together.

  2. Consider including your family and other loved ones in your wedding ceremony. They can sing or do readings, sprinkle petals, play a song on their musical instrument…there are boundless choices.  For couples with children, your offspring could be a part of the bridal party or if older, share a reading during the marriage or commitment ceremony.

  3. Consider including your dog/pet in your wedding ceremony! He or she might even be the ring bearer. Yes, we do this and it makes for some great photos with your beloved fur babies!

  4. Cultural and religious traditions can also be included in your ceremony. Think of hand fasting, sand pouring, lighting a candle, or even a wine ceremony. A recent wedding lit a family candle in memory of a much loved family member. They also reserved a chair at the front with a photo of their loved one so everyone could see how much this relative meant to them.

  5. Take the time to select appropriate and meaningful music for your wedding ceremony. If you have a special friend that plays a musical instrument, this would be an awesome way to include them in your ceremony.

  6. Select a meaningful reading for your ceremony. We can help you with this, but you might have one in mind. This can be your favourite poem, the words from a special song, a wedding poem or even something someone has written for you.

  7. Add personal details to your wedding ceremony. A line from your favourite song or TV show can be woven into the ceremony to add a special personal touch and even some humour!

  8. One of the most important and special times in your ceremony, is when you read your loving vows to each other. We are the agents of surprise! It is so touching when the couple each write their own vows and hear them for the first time on their wedding day.
